J-Ning's Development - 23 months

Months after months.. J-Ning is reaching her 2 years old pretty soon. Seemed to me that she is still a small baby. But despite these months , she has moved up her development chart tremendously fast except for her potty training which i have failed down to the drain.=( Now she is able to : 1. Drink from a cup by herself -totally unaided. 2. eat by herself but only available during lunch time. She seemed very figity during dinner. 3. Read a simple story book by herself. - have to clarify this. I bought a simple series of readers for her. The words repeats for example one of the book is " Our New House", here it goes

• Today we move into our new house
• So many doors
• So many windows
• So many fans
• So many lights
• So many staircase
• So many toys
• So many bathrooms
• So many tables
• So many chairs
• So many wardrobes
• So many drawers.
• So much work and we are all so tired.

Except for the 1st n the last sentences that she needs help, the others is repetitive so she finds it easy to read it.

4. Recites san zi jing all by herself without my help.

子不学 断机杼

5. Some simple chinese peoms and nursery rythms unaided.

6. Talks too much- a talkatoo.. anyone who needs a parrot can come n look for me.... everytime - whats this , whats that, give it to me - in chinese. so many lah to be named.

7. One that i m pretty surprised. She knows who is and can tell me who that uncle is.. like Uncle Jerry lah, Auntie Melissa- u be surprised... cos i always call her Siew Hoon, dun use melissa that often. Auntie Celine, n the best is she calls Uncle Chong- Uncle Francis. (I rememebered i only mentioned this name to her once... n usually i will tell her that Uncle Chong.She knows my name n of cos her Daddy-o's name. Sometimes she identifies herself as BB Chew,.. hahahaha.

8. She is trying very hard to jump with bof her feet up, but i guess cos of her physique, it takes more time.

9. Now she is very much into cooking her potato soup, always ransacking my potatoes n "cooking" them.

10. She simply adores bbs or her little bf , although sometimes she is in her "PMS" but whenever, she sees fotos of her bf or jie jie or mei mei or didi, it will be a non stop thing.

11. She can almost recite the entire of "Barney in Concert- New York City" which i dun think its good cos it means that she is "poisoned" by Barney.I am cutting her TV times which left only lunch time for her to watch it.

12. Oh yes, she talks funny wif french greetings- she will say Bonsoir , sava bien bu coup- she compose this herself. n everytime, merci here n there.

13. Puzzle wise she is still trying hard for her 12 piece cos i started pretty late in her puzzles. but cos she has gotten nails on her backside n could not sit down for long. I should be glad that she is able to sit down for 1 miserable round of puzzle building.

14. She suddenly has the habit of "forcing" me to read bedtime stories to her which she seldom ask me previously but i guess thats a good habit but i have to read at least 2 to satisfy her urge.

15 . I am not sure whether bcos she is a girl, she likes to show her affections that sometimes it really melt my heart. But when she gives me a cheeky smile, then i know she is up to something no good or have done something wrong.

Too many that i duno how to write liao.

but certainly there is a lot that i need to improve.

1. potty training, have to restart again.

2. puzzles

3. Her art n craft- getting her to stay on is sooooo hard!

4. Her reading skills.- cos she likes to jump words like a, the, is , are and i am still slowly rectifing these problems.
