Recipe to be shared- Home Made Salted Eggs

Salted eggs sold here are pretty expensive .. Maybe they took airplanes here or maybe they took the Boeing Airbus thats why they are so expensive =p.

So i decided to make myself so as in when i want to eat it , i can just make it myself.

Home Made Salted Eggs

  • Eggs- In singapore, they use duck eggs, but here cos it maybe quite hard to find so we can use chicken eggs to replace.
  • Wine- You can use Shaoxing wine or any rice wine available.
  • Table salt
  • Polythene bags- Bao Sian Dai

How to do it. Its real simple...

  • Roll the eggs in the wine, then coat the eggs wif salt. As much as you can.
  • Put the eggs in the polythene bag , seal it up and put the eggs in a cupboard and somewhere dark and a little warm - not at the heater of cos, they will become boiled eggs.=p
  • remember to note down the date when you make the eggs. - if not they will not turn yummy. For god's sake , doesnt mean u put longer, they will turn into century egg hor.
  • Leave for about 3 to 4 weeks.
  • Voila! U get salted eggs.

Rememeber, this salted eggs need to be cooked before eating hor.. cannot just break and eat unless you want to fall sick then thats not my problem=p.

But if you accidentally break the uncooked eggs, no worries, you can mince some meat up, then add this uncooked salted egg in and steam it.. and that is another dish you can whip up!.

Enjoy Making!
